Allen scores 20 points in Northeastern 65-58 win over Boston U.
BOSTON (AP)—Freshman point guard Chaisson Allen scored 20 points and Manny Adako added 17 to lead Northeastern to a 65-58 victory over Boston University on Monday night.
Allen also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals and didn?t have a turnover in 35 minutes, helping the Huskies to their first win in three games. Northeastern was coming off an overtime loss at Maryland.
BU (1-3) suffered its third straight loss.
Allen helped put the game away for Northeastern by making a basket and six straight free throws in the final 1:09. Adako was a dominant force inside all night.
Nken Ojougboh had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, who led by two points at the break and then used an 8-0 run over a 2:01 span to snap a 27-27 tie and take control. The game had also been tied at 25, the first time BU drew even in the game.
The Huskies were 2-for-17 from 3-point range in the first half and then missed their first four treys in the second half before hitting three of their last four.
Corey Lowe and Matt Wolff led the Terriers with 12 points apiece, while Scott Brittan had 10 points and five rebounds.
