McKee leads Kent State in easy 74-51 win over Coppin State

KENT, Ohio (AP)—Mike McKee scored 20 points and Mike Scott had 17 points and 10 rebounds as Kent State beat Coppin State Sunday 74-51.

The Golden Flashes (2-1) never trailed and led Coppin State (2-1) by double-figures for most of the game. McKee made five first-half 3-pointers to lead Kent State to an 18-point halftime lead.

Rodriquez Sherman added 13 points while Haminn Quaintance had seven points and seven rebounds for Kent State. Nine players scored for the Golden Flashes.

Coppin State’s Mike Miller scored 11 points and was 3-for-3 in 3-point shooting. Eddie Hayden had 10 points for the Eagles.

Coppin State shot just 39.6 percent, while Kent State shot 46.8 percent.
