Montana pulls away to 70-61 win over S. Dakota St.
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP)—The Montana Grizzlies shot 58 percent in the second half to pull away from South Dakota State in a 70-61 men’s basketball victory on Saturday.
Montana (3-1) and S. Dakota St. (1-1) were tied 30-30 at halftime. But the Jackrabbits fell off the pace in the second half, shooting 45 percent but hitting just three of 10 3-point attempts.
Montana also outrebounded SDSU 36-27.
Jordan Hasquet had 29 points and five rebounds for the Grizzlies. Hasquet was 12-for-19 from the floor.
Matt Martin was the only other Montana player in double figures with 11 points.
Ben Beran led SDSU with 16 points and five rebounds.
Garrett Callahan had 11 points and Clint Sargent added 10 for the Jackrabbits.
