Nelson, Woodside lead N. Dakota St. past N.C. Central 104-51

FARGO, N.D. (AP)—Mike Nelson and Ben Woodside scored 18 points apiece Saturday to lead North Dakota State to a 104-51 rout of North Carolina Central.

Nelson had four 3-pointers and shared the team lead for the Bison (2-2) with nine rebounds. Brett Winkelman, who scored 17 points, also had nine boards and five assists.

Josh Vaughn added 12 points and three assists off the bench and Michael Tveidt had 11 points.

NDSU got little production from its bench in season-opening losses to Florida and Rutgers. But the Bison got 36 points from its bench against NCC.

NDSU shot 49 percent from the field while holding N.C. Central to just 28 percent shooting. The Bison also owned a 51-33 rebounding edge.

Charles Futrell led NCC (0-4) with 12 points. Ashton Sauls added 11.
