Roemer, Johnson lead Colgate over Kennesaw State 81-53

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) - Kyle Roemer scored 25 points and Ben Johnson added 15 to lead Colgate to a 81-53 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday.

The Owls (1-3) took an eight point lead in the first six minutes of the game. But Roemer’s 3-pointer sparked a 12-0 run to give Colgate a 17-13 lead in the first half.

After taking a 30-21 halftime lead, the Red Raiders (4-0) outscored the Owls 51-31 in the second half. Colgate shot 58 percent from the field, shooting 6-for-6 from beyond the arc during the half.

Tim Pounds scored 12 points and Peter Minchella had a game-high eight rebounds for Colgate.

Ronnell Wooten scored 10 points for the Owls. He was the only Kennesaw State player to score in double figures.
