Middle Tennessee 68, Lipscomb 62
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP)—Kevin Kanaskie led a balanced scoring attack and Middle Tennessee pulled away in the second half for a 68-62 victory Friday over winless Lipscomb in the second day of the First Shot Exempt Tournament.
All 10 players scored for Middle Tennessee (1-1), which trailed 31-30 at the half. Kanaskie finished with 13 points, 8 of them free throws.
The Blue Raiders led the rest of the way after making the first basket of the second half, and were ahead by 16, 54-38, with 8:58 left.
Desmond Yates, with 11 points, was the only other Middle Tennessee player in double figures.
Lipscomb (0-4) was led by Michael Lusk with 16 points, Eddie Ard with 15 and Brandon Brown with 10.
Lipscomb fell behind in the second half by shooting just 30 percent from the floor while the Blue Raiders hit 57.9 percent.
The Bisons got within 5 at 65-60 with 29 seconds left.
