Foster scores 21 in Vanderbilt’s 77-70 win over Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP)—Shan Foster scored 21 points to lead Vanderbilt to a 77-70 win over Toledo on Tuesday night.
The Commodores (2-0) led 35-29 at halftime and shot 67 percent (14 of 21) in the second half to pull away.
Foster, one of three returning starters from last season’s team that made it to the NCAA Sweet 16, also had eight rebounds. A.J. Ogilvy, a 6-11 center from Australia who had 18 points in his college debut Saturday against Austin Peay, scored 20 points against the Rockets (1-1).
Jonathan Amos led Toledo with 23 points. Jerrah Young scored 16, Tyrone Kent added 14 and Ridley Johnson had 11.
The Rockets shot 44 percent (23 of 52) for the game.
