5 Loyola of Chicago players score in double figures in 72-65 win over E. Illinois
CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP)—Senior Tracy Robinson had 16 points and J.R. Blount added 15 to lead Loyola of Chicago to a 72-65 victory over Eastern Illinois on Tuesday.
Five players scored in double figures for the Ramblers (2-0). Andy Polka had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Leon Young added 12 points and Ross Forman chipped in 10.
Loyola was 17-of-22 from the free-throw line, compared to 5-of-6 for the Panthers (1-1). The teams were tied at the half, but Loyola pulled ahead after a 9-2 run in the second, including a 3-pointer by Robinson.
Junior guard Mike Robinson led the Panthers with 13 points off the bench. Romain Martin added 10.
