Leasure’s 33 leads Coastal Carolina to 85-76 win over Campbell
CONWAY, S.C. (AP)—Jack Leasure scored 33 points, making 6-of-9 3-pointers, to lead Coastal Carolina to an 85-76 win over Campbell on Tuesday night.
Leasure shot 9-of-12 from the field and made nine of his 10 free throws as he finished just one point off his career high set in last weekend’s opener for the Chanticleers (2-0).
Coastal Carolina never trailed, but the Camels (1-1) cut the lead to 60-57 with under nine minutes to go.
On the next possession, Leasure buried a 3-pointer that started an 18-2 Chanticleers run over the next 4 1/2 minutes to put the game away.
Steven Sexton and Everage Richardson each added 12 points, while Joseph Harris added six points and nine rebounds for the Chanticleers.
Jake Wohlfeil led the Camels with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Ruell Pringle added 15 points.
Coastal Carolina shot 57.1 percent (28-of-49) from the field, while Campbell shot 46.2 percent (30-of-65).
