Rogers leads Baylor to 100-76 win over Jackson St.

WACO, Texas (AP)—Kevin Rogers had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and LaceDarius Dunn added a career-high 17 points to help lead Baylor to a 100-76 victory over Jackson State in the season opener for both teams Sunday night.

Dunn also had three steals and six rebounds.

Baylor pulled out to an early lead and never relinquished it. With four minutes remaining in the first half, Baylor had a 20-point lead and led 61-37 at halftime.

Jeremy Caldwell led the Tigers with 21 points, while Grant Maxey contributed 14. Chris Hyche sank three 3-pointers on his way to scoring 12.

Henry Dugat scored 16 points for the Bears while Aaron Bruce had 12, moving him into 14th place on Baylor’s all-time scoring list with 1,072 points. Curtis Jerrells scored 11 points for Baylor.

Baylor shot 61 percent from the floor to Jackson State’s 40 percent.
