Hines has 21 points to lead St. Francis, N.Y. to 62-59 victory over Hartford
NEW YORK (AP)—Robert Hines scored 21 points to lead St. Francis, N.Y. to a 62-59 victory over Hartford on Friday night.
The Terriers (1-0) lost their first 12 games last season under then-first-year coach Brian Nash and finished 9-22.
Ricky Cadell’s third 3-pointer of the game gave St. Francis the lead for good at 60-57.
Joe Zeglinski led the Hawks (0-1) with 13 points, while Warren McLendon and Mike Turner both added 10. Turner had 10 rebounds.
Hartford opened the game with a 19-2 run and were up 30-19 on a jumper by Jaret Von Rosenberg 1:40 into the second half.
Zeglinksi’s 3-pointer with 8:35 to go gave Hartford a 46-42 lead, but the Terriers went on a 7-0 run that was capped by a 3 by Kayden Ayeni.
