Gonzaga 87, Portland 67
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP)—Senior Derek Raivio, playing his last home game for Gonzaga, led the Bulldogs with 20 points Monday night as they defeated Portland 87-67.
Matt Bouldin scored 18 points for Gonzaga (19-10, 9-3 West Coast Conference) while reserves Micah Downs and David Pendergraft added career highs of 19 and 15 points, respectively.
Freshman Parker Emerson led Portland (8-20, 4-8) with a season-high 23 points. Taishi Ito had 15 points for the Pilots, who have lost eight in a row to Gonzaga and 22 of the teams’ last 23 meetings.
Gonzaga led 47-21 at the half.
The Bulldogs, trying to win their seventh consecutive WCC regular-season title, shot 52 percent from the field and 41 percent on 3-pointers.
Portland shot 38 percent from the field and 36 percent on 3-pointers.
Before Monday night’s game, Gonzaga had lost two in a row in Spokane for the first time since January 1995. Santa Clara snapped Gonzaga’s 50-game home winning streak—the longest active home winning streak in NCAA Division I— last Monday. No. 8 Memphis beat Gonzaga at the Spokane Arena on Saturday.
