Davidson 80, Wofford 73
DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP)—Stephen Curry scored a game-high 28 points to lead five Davidson players in double figures Monday as the Wildcats defeated Wofford 80-73.
Davidson (24-4, 15-1 Southern Conference) got double-doubles from Thomas Sander, who scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Boris Meno, who added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jason Richards scored 11 points, and Andrew Lovedale finished with 10.
Wofford, which led 41-37 at the break, held Davidson to 41.4 percent shooting, but Davidson hit 80 percent from the free throw line and scored 44 points from inside the paint compared to Wofford’s 16.
The lead changed 13 times throughout the game, but Davidson pulled ahead in the second half and led by as many as 11 points with 3:20 remaining.
Shane Nichols scored 17 points to lead Wofford (9-18, 4-12 Southern Conference), while Matt Estep added 10 points.
