Central Michigan 59, Buffalo 56
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Giordan Watson snapped a tie with a free throw in the final two minutes to lift Central Michigan to a 59-56 win over Buffalo Saturday night.
The game was tied at 56-all when Watson scored. Central Michigan’s Jordan Bitzer added two foul shots with less than 20 seconds seconds remaining for the final margin.
Central Michigan (9-14, 4-7 Mid-American Conference) was led by Sefton Barrett’s 21 points and eight rebounds while Watson added 16 points.
Yassin Idbihi scored a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds for Buffalo (10-14, 2-9).
Barrett gave Central Michigan a 56-54 lead when he completed a three-point play. Idbihi followed up to tied the game with two free throws before Watson put Buffalo on top.
Barrett scored seven of Central Michigan’s first nine points as the Chippewas opened the game with a 9-4 run.
