PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Dionte Christmas scored 31 points and Dustin Salisbery added 21 to lead Temple to its third straight victory, 109-70 over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.
Christmas, the Atlantic 10’s leading scorer averaging 21.1 points, shot 12-for-18 from the field, including 6-for-11 from 3-point range.
Mark Tyndale had 16 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, and Dion Dacons added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Owls (10-12, 4-5 Atlantic 10), who extended their winning streak over St. Bonaventure to nine games.
Temple improved to 47-6 against the Bonnies, including 25-0 in Philadelphia. The Owls also eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time in 616 games, dating to Feb. 4, 1988, against Duquesne.
A.J. Hawkins scored 23 points, Zarryon Fereti 14 and Tyler Relph 13 for St. Bonaventure (6-17, 3-7), which lost its third straight. Michael Lee also contributed 10 points.
The Owls used a pair of 9-0 runs early in the second half to turn a 47-38 halftime lead into a 67-45 advantage with 14:18 remaining. Salisbery scored nine points and Christmas five in the outbursts. The Bonnies never threatened in the second half, shot 44 percent and were outrebounded 49-21.
Temple shot 56 percent and hit 13 of 30 shots from long range.
