Cornell 74, Dartmouth 61
HANOVER, N.H. (AP)—Ryan Wittman and Alex Tyler each scored 14 points for Cornell as the Big Red posted a 74-61 victory over Dartmouth on Friday.
Cornell’s Ugo Ihekweazu added 12 points, going four-of-four from the floor, as the Big Red (11-8, 4-1 Ivy) built a 32-25 lead at halftime and never trailed in the second half.
For Dartmouth (7-11, 2-3 Ivy), Leon Pattman scored a game-high 17 points. Alex Barnett also was in double figures for Dartmouth with 13 points and a game-high seven rebounds.
Tyler scored 13 of his 14 points in a sloppy first half as both teams had 12 turnovers apiece.
Dartmouth got within four, 44-40, with 15:13 to go in regulation when Pattman scored on a jumper. The Big Red used five minutes to built the lead back to double digits, 54-44, as Cornell’s 10-point run was capped off by Wittman’s fourth 3-point basket of the night.
The Cornell lead didn’t go below eight for the remainder of the game.
