OGDEN, Utah (AP)—Juan Pablo Silveira scored 24 points as Weber State defeated Northern Colorado 76-65 Thursday night.

Dan Henry added 14 for the Wildcats (15-9, 8-3 Big Sky) while Tyler Billings finished with 12 points and Arturas Valeika scored 10 and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Sean Taibi led Northern Colorado (4-20, 2-10 Big Sky) with 23 points while Thanasi Panagiotakopoulos had 10.

Following a 3-pointer by Taibi that pulled the Bears within 41-39 with 16:46 left in the game, Silveira led the Wildcats on a 21-7 run where he and Valeika each scored eight points. The Bears never got within 11 points after that.

The Wildcats lost leading scorer David Patten about 6 minutes into the game when he took and elbow from Northern Colorado’s Terry Anderson under his left eye. Patten, who averaged 17.8 points a game in league play, was taken to the hospital for x-rays and did not return.
