Creighton 82, Bradley 71
PEORIA, Ill. (AP)—Dane Watts and Nate Funk scored 18 points each Wednesday night to lead Creighton to an 82-71 victory over Bradley.
Bradley scored the first points of the game and fell behind after that, as Creighton’s defense held the Braves to 9-of-25 shooting from the field, while the Bluejays (15-7, 9-3 Missouri Valley) hit 54 percent of their shots on the way to a 40-28 halftime lead.
Although Creighton’s shooting tapered off a bit in the second half, the Bluejays were able to build a 19-point lead with 16:38 to go, before the Braves mounted a weak comeback.
Nick Porter and Isacc Miles each scored 15 points for Creighton. Anthony Tolliver scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Bradley (15-9, 6-6) was led by Daniel Ruffin’s 17 points. Matt Salley scored 15 points and Jeremy Crouch added 12 for the Braves.
