Gardner-Webb 64, Campbell 55
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP)—Chris Gash’s consecutive 3-pointers at the end of the game helped Gardner-Webb defeat Campbell 64-55 on Tuesday.
Gash led the Bulldogs with 17 points and made 4-of-9 from behind the arc. Takayo Siddle added 10 points and Thomas Sanders had eight points and 10 rebounds for Gardner-Webb (7-15, 5-6 Atlantic Sun).
Campbell (10-11, 5-6) led 26-25 at the break and took a 37-31 lead with 14:06 to play. A 12-0 run by Gardner-Webb made the score 43-37 with 11:11 left.
Campbell caught up again before Gash gave the Bulldogs the lead for good with the score at 55-53 at the two-minute mark.
Kyle Vejraska led the Camels with 16 points, followed by Reggie Bishop with 14 and Jonathan Rodriguez with 11.
Campbell starting forward Russ Gibson was out with an injury, and Ruell Pringle—the Camels’ third-leading scorer—did not play because of illness.
