NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP)—Luke Rogers scored 26 points, including three of four 3-point attempts and nine of 11 free throws, as Northwestern State beat Southeastern Louisiana 98-91 on Saturday.
The Demons (11-9 overall, 6-2 Southland) shot a season-high 58 percent from the field and got 8 of 10 3-point shots, and 80 percent of their free throws. Southeastern (12-8, 4-3) hit 52 percent overall, including 11 of 24 3-pointers.
The lead changed 17 times in the first period, which also had seven ties, and the Lions hit seven of 13 3-point shots on the way to a 44-41 halftime lead.
But Northwestern got 19 of the first 24 points in the next 4:20. The Lions got within three points of them three times after that, and within four points in the stretch.
Quennell Green had 25 points for Southeastern. Joseph Polite added 17, Daryl Cohen 14 and Terry Bryant 10.
Gerrell Thomas had 14 points for Northwestern, Colby Bargeman 13 and Kennan Jones 11, including all seven of his free throws.
