FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP)—Tyrone Bazy scored 12 of his team-high 18 points in the second half, and Ruben Boykin Jr. and Steve Sir scored 14 points apiece to lead Northern Arizona to an 86-76 win over Montana State on Saturday.
Nick Dissly led the way for Montana State (7-14, 4-4 Big Sky) with a game-best 24 points. Brandon Johnson had 11 points, while Ted Morris and Mecklen Davis tallied 10 points apiece.
Bobcats guard Carlos Taylor, who had 19 points in the 58-57 win over league leader Idaho State on Jan. 20, was scoreless in the first half and finished with 11 points.
Northern Arizona (11-10, 6-4) snapped a two-game slide and ended the Bobcats’ three-game winning streak.
The Lumberjacks held a 43-41 lead with 16:36 left when junior forward Kyle Landry doubled the lead with a baby hook from the right block.
Josh Wilson hit a 3-pointer on Northern Arizona’s next possession. The Bobcats turned the ball over on their next touch and Sir made them pay with a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
Montana State didn’t get closer than nine points the rest of the way.
Wilson and Landry finished with 11 points each.
