Xavier 92 St. Bonaventure 66
OLEAN, N.Y. (AP)—Justin Doellman scored a game-high 20 points to lead Xavier in a 92-66 win over St. Bonaventure Wednesday night.
Xavier (14-6, 4-2 Atlantic 10) jumped out to a 19-5 lead six and a half minutes into the game, but St. Bonaventure (5-14, 2-4) responded with an 11-0 run to pull within three at 19-16—the closest they would get to the Musketeers the rest of the night.
In the middle of the St. Bonaventure run, Xavier’s Josh Duncan grabbed a defensive rebound and fell on his left ankle.
Duncan missed the rest of the game. Xavier coach Sean Miller was uncertain of the injury’s severity and declined to speculate on Duncan’s status for the team’s next game Saturday against Dayton.
Xavier shot 64.2 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from the 3-point line. A.J. Hawkins added 12 points and Zarryon Fereti contributed 11 for the Bonnies.
Drew Lavender had 15 points for Xavier. Stanley Burrell added 15 points and Justin Cage netted 11.
It was St. Bonaventure’s 12th loss in 14 games.
