Winthrop 62, Radford 59
RADFORD, Va. (AP)—Taj McCullough scored six points during a game-ending 12-4 run Saturday night, rallying Winthrop to a 62-59 victory against Radford.
The Eagles (15-4, 5-0 Big South) trailed 55-50 with about 10 minutes left before McCullough hit a jumper and 3-pointer to tie it at 55 and start the run. A dunk by Craig Bradshaw gave Winthrop the lead, but the Highlanders rallied, too.
Radford (7-14, 2-4) led 59-57 after a layup by Reggie McIntyre with 2:45 left, but Chris Gaynor tied it with a jumper with 2:11 left, and McCullough added a free throw.
McCullough led the Eagles with 13 points and Gaynor and Michael Jenkins scored 12 each.
The Highlanders got 14 points from Amir Johnson, 13 from Martell McDuffy and 12 from Chris Oliver.
