Sacred Heart 84, Robert Morris 82
CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP)—Drew Shubik scored a career-high 28 points and Jarrid Frye scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half to lead Sacred Heart to an 84-82 victory over Robert Morris on Thursday.
Derek Coleman had 29 points and A.J. Jackson scored 21 for Robert Morris, which lost at home for the first time this season. Freddie Harris and Jeremy Chappell each added 10 points.
Luke Granato contributed 11 points for Sacred Heart (9-8, 5-1 Northeast Conference), which made 17 of the first 21 shots in the second half for the comeback win. The Pioneers shot 57 percent for the game and 64 percent in the second half.
Robert Morris (11-5, 3-4) had won six of seven and was 7-0 at the Sewall Center coming into the contest.
Sacred Heart trailed the Colonials 43-36 at the half and were down 11 points with 14 minutes to play but took a 66-64 lead on a dunk by Liam Potter with 8:42 left. Robert Morris pulled ahead twice before the Pioneers took the lead for good, 81-79, on a Brice Brooks layup with 1:30 left.
Shubik, who had never scored more than 17 points in the game but had 18 in the first half, has 44 points in his last two contests, which he entered having averaged only 5.8 points per game. He also had six assists and five steals.
