OMAHA, Neb. (AP)—Nate Funk scored 25 points to lead Creighton to a 65-54 win over Bradley on Thursday night.
The Bluejays (12-6, 6-2 Missouri Valley) improved to 8-0 at home with the victory and stayed atop the conference standings.
Creighton shot 58 percent from the field to claim a 35-30 halftime lead. Funk scored 14 first-half points, 10 of which came during a 14-3 surge that put Creighton up nine points.
J.J. Tauai and Daniel Ruffin followed with consecutive three-pointers for Bradley to cut the lead to 33-30.
The Braves (13-7, 4-4) later pulled within two on Matt Salley’s basket midway in the second half. But Creighton reserve Nick Bahe responded with a 3-pointer on the next possession, then made a steal leading to a Funk layup that extended the lead back to seven.
Funk’s three-pointer with 4:46 left put the game out of reach.
Bradley led the nation in three-point shooting percentage entering the contest, but missed 10 of its first 11 shots from behind the arc.
The Braves got 18 points from forward Matt Salley, but finished the game 5-of-23 from 3-point range.
