Hofstra 70, Old Dominion 58
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP)—Loren Stokes and Antoine Agudio both scored 18 points to lead Hofstra to its fifth straight victory, 70-58 over Old Dominion on Monday night.
Chris Gadley added 13 points for the Pride (11-4, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association) and Zygis Sestokas had 12. Stokes grabbed 12 rebounds for Hofstra, which has won 10 of 11 with the only loss coming at Syracuse.
Valdas Vasylius matched his career high with 29 points for the Monarchs (10-5, 3-1), while Drew Williamson had 11.
Hofstra broke the sixth and final tie of the second half with an 11-0 run that gave the Pride a 58-47 lead with 5:31 to play. Sestokas had four points in the spurt.
The Monarchs got as close as 60-54 on a three-point play by Vasylius with 1:41 remaining.
The win extended Hofstra’s regular-season home winning streak to 24 games. The Pride lost at home to the Monarchs in the quarterfinals of the NIT last March.
