ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—Kennan Jones scored 16 points to help Northwestern State snap a four-game losing streak by defeating Texas-Arlington 78-65 on Saturday.

Keithan Hancock came off the bench to add 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Luke Rogers scored 11 points, and Gerrell Thomas led the Demons (6-8) with eight rebounds.

The Mavericks (5-9) led 19-13 with 10:27 remaining in the first half but were held to only two points over the next 13 minutes. They had a season-high 29 turnovers.

Jermaine Griffin led UTA with 22 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. He hit 10-of-11 from the field. Brandon Long came off the bench to add 17 points, including five three pointers. Anthony Vereen had 13 points.
