Bucknell 59, Navy 51

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP)—Donald Brown had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Bucknell to a 59-51 victory over Navy on Saturday night, the Bison’s 22nd straight Patriot League victory.

Chris McNaughton scored 12 points and John Griffin added 11 for Bucknell (7-7, 1-0), which won its 27th straight conference home game.

Greg Sprink scored 18 points to lead Navy (10-6, 0-1).

The Bison used a 7-0 run at the start of the second half to extend their lead to 37-29 lead with 15:48 to play. Brown started the run by feeding Jason Vegotsky for an easy layup in the lane.

Navy closed within five with 10:07 remaining before Bucknell center McNaughton took a pass from Brown and dropped in a reverse lay-up. Baskets by Brown and McNaughton stretched the lead to 46-37 with just over nine minutes left.

Bucknell scored 30 of its 59 points in the paint and held a 30-8 advantage in that category.
