Cornell 80, Ithaca 47
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP)—Andrew Naeve scored the game’s first six points, launching Cornell to an easy 80-47 victory over crosstown rival Ithaca College on Friday.
Ryan Wittman and Conor Mullen each hit 3-pointers to give host Cornell (6-7) a 12-0 lead before Division III Ithaca scored its first basket.
The Big Red substituted freely as 13 players logged at least seven minutes. Kevin App scored 12 points off the bench, Graham Dow had 12 points and Wittman added 11 points.
Sean Burton scored 10 points to lead Ithaca (4-5), which is 0-5 lifetime against Cornell.
Ithaca was held to 25.5 percent from the field while Cornell shot 47.5 percent.
The Big Red plays host to Division I newcomer New Jersey Institute of Technology on Sunday in a final tune up before commencing Ivy League play.
