Murray St. 86, Tennessee St. 83, OT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Tyler Holloway had 29 points, including four straight free throws in the last 20 seconds of overtime, to help Murray State beat Tennessee State 86-83 Thursday night.
Murray State (7-8, 5-2 Ohio Valley Conference) tied it with eight seconds left in regulation on a 3-pointer by Ray George, who had 12 points.
Tennessee State (5-8, 2-2) led 42-26 at the half, taking advantage of eight Racers turnovers for 11 points and shooting 45.5 percent from the field.
But the Racers came back with a 24-6 run in the second half to tie it at 50 with 11:05 left on a tip-in by George Fotso. The Tigers kept even and pulled ahead on a dunk by Andrae Belton before George tied it from the arc.
Bruce Carter had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Racers. Dwayne Paul added 11.
Belton led the Tigers with 35 points, including 10 in overtime, followed by Clarence Matthews with 17 points and Ladarious Weaver with 16 points.
The Tigers controlled the boards 45-31, with 12 each from Matthews and Larry Turner.
