LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)—Sek Henry scored 18 points to lead five Nebraska players in double figures in an 81-53 victory over Savannah State on Wednesday night.
Nebraska (10-3), playing at home for only the second time since Nov. 29, won their third straight. Savannah State (6-13), which opened with five straight wins, lost for the 13th time in 14 games.
Marcus Perry came off the bench to score 11 of his 17 points in the first half. Perry hit two of his five 3-pointers and scored eight points during a 19-2 Nebraska run that turned a 12-6 deficit into a 25-14 lead.
Aleks Maric and Jamel White added 14 points apiece and Paul Velander added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
With the Cornhuskers playing reserves, Savannah State pulled to 50-37 on Joshua Obiajunwa’s 3-pointer with 12:07 left.
Maric re-entered the game, and Nebraska went on a 13-3 run to put the game out of reach.
Obiajunwa had 13 points and Alvin Edwards 10 for Savannah State.
Nebraska shot 61.2 percent (30-of-49) while holding the Tigers to 39.5 percent (17-of-43).
