Cornell 64, Colgate 53
HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP)—Ryan Wittman scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Cornell to a 64-53 win over Colgate Wednesday night.
Cornell (5-7) snapped a four-game losing streak. For Colgate (5-8) it was the third straight loss.
Louis Dale contributed 14 points for Cornell, while Andrew Naeve added 12 and Graham Dow had 11.
Jon Simon led Colgate with 22 points, while Kendall Chones scored 10.
Colgate jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, and held a 9-2 advantage, but Cornell responded in the first with nine straight points for a four-point lead.
Cornell continued to lead, wrapping up the first half at 23-17.
Colgate rallied in the second half to a take one-point lead, 46-45, with less than five minutes remaining, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Jason Battle and Wittman put Cornell in front for good.
Cornell made 10 straight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
