Manhattan 89, Pepperdine 87
MALIBU, Calif. (AP)—Devon Austin scored 22 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to record a double-double and lead Manhattan to an 89-87 victory over Pepperdine on Tuesday night.
The Waves (4-12) had a chance to win it at the end but senior guard Chase Griffin’s three-pointer came after the buzzer sounded. Griffin finished with a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers.
Manhattan (4-8) had four players finish in double figures as Antoine Petersen scored 18 points, Patrick Bouli contributed 14 and Darryl Crawford added 12.
Bouli hit a three-pointer with 1:06 left to give Manhattan an 87-86 lead. Crawford extended the Jaspers’ lead to 89-86 with 19 seconds remaining.
