MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP)—Central Michigan senior forward Sefton Barrett finished with a season high 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 52-51 win against Morehead State on Saturday.
The Chippewas led 29-27 at the half and scored the first nine points of the second half. Central Michigan (5-7) led by 13 with 8:36 left on a dunk by Barrett to see Morehead State come back.
Quentin Pryor was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 1:43 and sank all three free throws to get the Eagles (7-5) to within 52-51.
Morehead State had three field goal chances in the final seconds of the game, but couldn’t get one to drop.
Barrett missed a bonus opportunity with three seconds to go.
After an Eagle rebound and time-out, a midcourt shot by Shaun Williams hit the backboard as time expired.
The Chippewas Giordan Watson and Justin Blevins finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Cordaryl Ballard paced Morehead State with 16 points and nine rebounds. Pryor was the only other Eagle in double digits with 14.
