Furman 83, Mercer 69

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP)—Sophomore Jadee Jones scored a career-high 18 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Furman to an 83-69 victory over Mercer on Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.

Robby Bostain had 16 points and seven assists for Furman (6-6). Gerad Punch tied a career-high with 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Moussa Diagne scored 14 points and Alex Opacic added 11 points.

Mercer (5-7) was led by Shaddean Aaron with a game-high 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field. Calvin Henry scored 11 and Sam Dolan and James Florence each added 10 points for the Bears.

Mercer began the second half on an 8-2 run to trim the Paladin lead to 50-43 with 17:49 remaining. Furman answered with an 11-4 run to put the game out of reach at 77-63 with 4:49 left.
