FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP)—Nathan Geiser scored a career-high 27 points as Northern Arizona beat Sacramento State 96-82 Thursday night in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams.

Ruben Boykin Jr. added 20 points and Tyrone Bazy 18 for the Lumberjacks (6-6), who stretched their homecourt winning streak to 15 games. They are 5-0 this season at the Walkup Skydome.

Sacramento State (5-8) was led by Angel Alamo’s 17 points while Alonzo Young came off the bench to score 15.

NAU went on a 20-3 run in a 10:10 span to take a 34-27 lead late in the first half.

The Lumberjacks led 49-35 at halftime and coasted to the victory as Boykin scored 13 of his points in the second half.

Ryan McCurdy added 12 points for NAU while Geiser made all six of his 3-point shots.
