Missouri State 81, South Florida 69
TAMPA, Fla. (AP)—Tyler Chaney led Missouri State with 19 points, eight assists and 10 rebounds in a 81-69 victory over South Florida on Friday.
Blake Ahearn led four other starters in double figures for Missouri State (10-2) with 17 points. Drew Richards finished with 12, and Spencer Laurie and Deven Mitchell added 10 each.
Melvin Buckley scored 28 points, including the last 16, for South Florida (7-4). Transfer students Kentrell Gransberry and Jesus Verdejo contributed 15 and eight, respectively, in their home debuts for the Bulls.
Missouri State won its sixth victory in seven games. South Florida committed 22 turnovers on the way to its third consecutive loss after winning seven of its first eight.
