Montana State 97, Great Falls 52
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)—Nick Dissly scored 22 points to lead Montana State to a 97-52 victory over the University of Great Falls on Monday night, breaking the Bobcats’ five-game losing streak.
Dissly was 4 of 8 from the field and 12 of 13 from the line. He also picked up four rebounds and two steals.
Also in double figures for Montana State (3-9) were Danny Piepoli with 12, Carson Durr and Mecklen Davis with 11, and Carlos Taylor and Travis Derochowski with 10.
The Argos’ leading scorer this season, Tyrone Witherspoon, injured his ankle early in the first period and was taken out of the game.
Davis hit a layup, a free throw and two 3-pointers as the Bobcats went on a 19-point run to put them up 37-14 over Great Falls (9-5) with 6:09 left in the first period.
Montana State shot 47 percent from the field while holding Great Falls to 30.6 percent. The Bobcats also made a school-record 15 3-pointers, including four by Piepoli and three by Dissly.
The Argos were led by Rashaun Puryear with 18 points and five rebounds. Matt Niemeyer and Chris Jensen added 8 points each.
