Bucknell 70, Cornell 66
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP)—Donald Brown had 14 points and John Griffin and Jason Vegotsky each added 12 to lead Bucknell to a 70-66 come-from-behind win over Cornell Saturday.
Bucknell (3-5) rallied late in the second when Brown had a layup followed up by a jumper to even the score at 66-all with 1:38 remaining. A 3-pointer by Vegotsky put Bucknell ahead, 69-66, for the first time in the second half with less than a minute to go.
Brown made a free throw in the final seconds to seal the win. Bucknell shot 49 percent from the field.
Cornell (4-4) jumped out to 35-18 lead after a layup by Graham Dow with 5:45 left in the first period.
The Big Red, which shot 50 percent from the field, was ahead 43-30 at the end of the first half. Louis Dale had a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer to widen Cornell’s lead to 48-37 with 15:50 remaining in the game.
