BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)—Quinton Hosley scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Fresno State to an 82-77 overtime victory over Montana State on Saturday night.
Dominic McGuire had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Hector Hernandez added 14 points for Fresno State (8-1), which was coming off its first loss of the season.
Montana State (2-8) tried to overcome an 80-41 loss at Fresno State three weeks ago by hitting a pair of 3-pointers for the early lead. But the Bulldogs triumphed with sheer accuracy, shooting 10 of 10 from the line in the first period amid five lead changes.
Fresno State held the lead with just over five minutes left in the first period and went into the half up by seven. Montana State then trailed for a full 25 minutes until Carlos Taylor scored at the buzzer to tie the score at 67.
The Bulldogs came out on top in overtime, shooting 100 percent from the line and 75 percent overall.
Carson Durr scored a season-high 19 points for Montana State, and Mecklen Davis added a season-high 11 points. Carlos Taylor and Nick Dissly also scored in the double digits in Montana State’s closest finish of the season.
