NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP)—Calvin Watson scored 21 points and North Texas shot 66 percent from the field in a 76-70 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday night.

North Texas (6-2) took the lead for good eight minutes into the game and pushed the margin to a game-high 16 points at 1:43 in the first half.

The Lumberjacks (4-4) chipped away in the second half but were hampered by poor shooting, hitting 38 percent (11-of-29) in the second half.

Watson was 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Keith Wooden scored 15 points for the Mean Green, while Ben Bell had 11 and Michael Sturns 10.

Josh Alexander scored 22 points for the Lumberjacks, while Matt Kingsley added 16 and Chaz Dykes 11.
