Davidson 66, UNC Greensboro 63
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Stephen Curry scored 24 points to lead Davidson to a 66-63 win over UNC Greensboro on Monday.
Boris Meno added 19 points and six rebounds for Davidson (6-3, 2-0), which made 5-of-6 from the line in the final two minutes to put away the win. Curry has scored in double figures in eight of this season’s nine games, including four games topping the 20-point mark.
Kyle Hines finished 13-for-16 with a game-high 30 points and 15 rebounds for UNC Greensboro (2-6, 1-1). It was his 29th consecutive game scoring in double digits and he tallied five blocked shots for a career 212, extending school records.
Ben Stywall added 11 rebounds for the Spartans.
Davidson took a 61-59 lead on Thomas Sander’s two free throws with less than two minutes to play, then extended the lead to 63-60 on a reverse lay-up by Stephen Curry.
Hines was fouled with 14.1 seconds left but missed both and UNC Greensboro was forced to foul. William Archambault knocked down both from the line, sealing the win.
