PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Dionte Christmas scored 20 points and Dustin Salisbery added 11 to lead Temple past Long Beach State 74-49 on Saturday.
Sergio Olmos posted career-highs of 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Owls (2-2), who won their second straight. Olmos scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds all of last season.
Temple trailed 5-0 before cruising to a 43-13 lead at halftime. The Owls quickly pushed their lead to 36 on a basket by Semaj Inge to make it 58-22 with 11:51 remaining.
Temple was solid offensively and hit 29-of-64 shots, including 10-of-24 from 3-point range.
The 49ers (2-4) never threatened in the second half and struggled from the field, shooting 24 percent, while hitting just 4-of-28 of their 3-pointers. They also committed 16 turnovers.
Sterling Byrd led Long Beach State with 12 points, but shot 5-of-16. Mark Dawson added seven points for the 49ers.
Leading scorer Aaron Nixon, who entered the game averaging 16.6 points, was held to six points on 2-of-13 shooting.
