Auburn 92, Nicholls St. 87
AUBURN, Ala. (AP)—Korvotney Barber had a career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds and Auburn erased a 17-point second half deficit to beat Nicholls State 92-87 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Auburn (5-2) trailed 57-40 with 13 minutes to play and came back to claim a 78-72 advantage in the final minute of regulation.
The Tigers got a pair of baskets inside from Josh Dollard and another from Barber to claim a six-point overtime lead. From that point they hit 6-for-6 from the foul line to hold on for the victory.
A Stefan Blaszcynski 3-pointer for the Colonels (0-8) at the buzzer had sent the game into overtime tied at 78 apiece. Blaszczynski had 23 of his 27 points in the second half and overtime. He also had 10 rebounds and four assists.
Rasheem Barrett had 21 points and seven boards and Dwayne Reed had 10 points, nine assists, five steals and four boards for the Tigers.
The Colonels opened the game on fire from long range as Ryan Bathie connected on four 3-pointers to give his team a 22-9 lead just five minutes in. Bathie finished with 18 points on 6-for-7 shooting from three-point range.
