Binghamton 57, Cornell 56
VESTAL, N.Y. (AP)—Lazar Trifunovic made two free throws with 27 seconds left to lead Binghamton over Cornell, 57-56, on Saturday.
Trifunovic, a freshman forward from Belgrade, scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half and was fouled as he made an offensive rebound with Binghamton (3-1) trailing 56-55.
Cornell missed two shots as the clock wound down.
Senior guard Troy Hailey led Binghamton with 15 points, including two three-pointers in the final 2:27. He was four-of-four on three-pointers for the game.
Forward Ryan Wittman led Cornell (3-2) with 19 points.
Binghamton led 33-30 at the half, the largest lead either team had for the rest of the way.
