DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—Drew Burleson scored six points and DaShaun Wood had the other three in a late 9-2 run in the second overtime to lead Wright State to an 86-83 victory over Butler on Saturday night.
Butler (15-9, 8-4 Horizon League) led 80-77 after Drew Streicher’s jumper with 3:16 left in the second overtime.
Burleson hit a layup at the 2:58 mark and then made a jumper with 2:12 left to give Wright State (12-11, 8-5) the lead for good. Wood and Burleson each hit a pair of foul shots before Bruce Horan’s 3-pointer with 8 seconds left cut the lead to 85-83. Wood closed the scoring with a free throw a second later.
Wood led the Raiders with 33 points, with Burleson adding 18 and Jordan Pleiman 14.
A.J. Graves scored 24 points, Brandon Polk had 21, Brandon Crone 12 and Avery Sheets 11 for the Bulldogs.
Polk’s two free throws with 5 seconds left tied the game at 62 and forced the first overtime. With 2 seconds remaining in the first overtime, Polk dunked off an assist from Sheets.
Wright State hit 7-of-10 shots from the field in the overtimes, in addition to making 10-of-15 free throws. The Raiders were 21-of-32 at the line to Butler’s 13-of-17.
