Bucknell 68, Colgate 59
HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP)—Kevin Bettencourt scored 17 points to lead Bucknell to a 68-59 win over Colgate on Saturday in the Patriot League.
Three other starters for the Bisons (18-3, 9-0) were in double figures, Charles Lee with 13 points, Chris McNaughton with 12 and Abe Badmus adding 10.
Colgate (8-14, 2-6) led the entire first half, getting 10 points from Kyle Roemer and holding Bucknell to 33 percent shooting from the field. The Raiders were up 28-20 at the break.
A 13-2 run gave Bucknell its first lead 38-36 with just under 13 minutes to play.
Bucknell shot 67 percent from the floor and sunk 16 of 19 free throws in the second half. Its defense played a big role in the comeback, forcing 23 turnovers. The Bison have won nine straight.
Kyle Roemer scored 19 points and Todd Checovich added 13 for the Raiders.
