Belmont 81, Lipscomb 65
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Josh Goodwin and Brian Collins scored 21 points each to lead Belmont to an 81-65 victory Tuesday night over neighborhood rival Lipscomb.
Host Belmont (10-9, 8-4 Atlantic Sun) led nearly all the way and shot 52.5 percent compared to 37.3 percent for Lipscomb (13-7, 9-3), whose campus is just two miles away.
Justin Hare added 15 points for Belmont and Boomer Herndon added 12 and had a game-high 11 rebounds.
Lipscomb got 14 points from Brian Fisk, but he hit just 5-of-21 from the floor and only 1-of-10 from 3-point range. Reserve James Poindexter had 11 points and Eddie Ard 10, but made only 2-of-10 floor shots.
Belmont led 81-65 at the half.
Belmont controlled the boards, 38-31.
