Bucknell 62, Colgate 43
LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP)—Chris McNaughton scored 16 points and Donald Brown had 14 points to lead Bucknell to a 62-43 win over Colgate on Saturday.
The Bison (14-3, 5-0 Patriot League) led 28-22 at the half but did most of their damage in the second period, going on a 15-0 run to pull ahead 54-35. The Raiders never got closer than the six-point halftime margin for the rest of the game.
Kyle Roemer and Alvin Reed each scored 11 for Colgate (7-12, 1-4).
Colgate led for most of the first half and held Bucknell without a basket for 10 minutes, pulling to a 15-10 edge on a jumper by Alvin Reed with 7:42 remaining. But the Bison ended the half with an 18-7 run to take a 28-22 lead at the half.
Bucknell held the Raiders to just 7-for-26 shooting from the floor in the second half while shooting 58 percent in the half.
The Bison were helped by strong shooting from the foul line, hitting 8-of-10 in the first half and 12-of-15 for the game. Bucknell tallied 15 points of 17 turnovers by the Raiders.
