Sacred Heart 73, Robert Morris 60
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP)—Kibwe Trim had 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 73-60 Sacred Heart victory that handed Robert Morris its first Northeast Conference loss of the season Thursday night.
Sacred Heart (8-8, 5-2 NEC) took control of the game with a 17-2 run early in the second half. Tavio Hobson had five points, two steals and an assist during the run. Robert Morris got no closer than 10 the rest of the game.
Jarrid Frye added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Pioneers, and Drew Shubik chipped in 13.
It was SHU’s fifth straight home victory.
The Pioneers, who have made the NEC tournament just once in six years, is a game out of first place.
Robert Morris (9-6, 5-1), which had won five straight and seven of eight, was led by Tony Lee’s 17 points and eight rebounds. Jeremy Cheppell scored 15 and A.J. Jackson and Jonathan Clark added 10 apiece.
Jackson was held to more than seven points below his season average.
